刁蠻公主戇駙馬

西戎、北狄兩國興兵侵犯華夏，被華夏元師孟飛雄打敗。飛雄從俘虜口中得知事件起因乃是華夏鳳霞公主嘲笑他們的使臣而引起，於是回朝奏明皇帝，並要求依法懲治公主。鳳霞刁蠻不肯認錯，孟飛雄建議皇帝以責打公主的霞帔代替。皇帝依法而行，又十分欣賞飛雄，將鳳霞許配給他，期望飛雄能將公主改變成賢妻良母。在大婚當天，鳳霞伺機報復，要飛雄跪在門前迎接。飛雄不從，二人在喜堂前爭辯起來。鳳霞憤然要父王罰飛雄當和尚。後來鳳霞感到後悔，於是到承恩寺挽回飛雄。原來住持還未替駙馬削髮，二人團圓。從此，孟飛雄與公主夫妻和睦，國治家齊。

The Sassy Princess and Her Blunt Husband

Xirong and Beidi are two countries that invade China; both are defeated by Marshal Meng Feixiong. Learning from a captive that the invasion was caused by Chinese Princess Fengxia’s ill treatment of ambassadors from these countries, Feixiong reports this to the emperor and suggests him to punish the princess.

When the sassy princess refuses to apologize, Feixiong advises the emperor to have her cape flogged instead; the emperor follows his advice. Appreciating his abilities, the emperor marries Princess Fengxia to the marshal in hopes that the marshal will turn the princess into a dutiful wife and loving mother.
On the wedding day, Fengxia seeks revenge by asking Feixiong to greet her by kneeling at the door.Feixiong refuses, and they quarrel in public. In indignation, she asks her father to punish Feixiong by making him monk.

The princess later regrets her decision and goes to Cheng’en Monastery to bring Feixiong back. The princess arrives just before Feixiong’s shaving ceremony. After the reunion, the couple lives in happy harmony.
