霸王別姬

張良知韓信懷抱大志，到訪楚國，並指引他投靠劉邦。劉邦只予微職，韓信不滿，夤夜離營回鄉。蕭何深知韓信乃大將之材，疾騎月下，把韓信追回。劉邦拜韓信為帥，興兵伐楚，韓信調兵遣將至九里山，力挫項羽大軍，更施攻心計，於楚軍營帳外吹楚曲，唱楚歌，喚起楚軍思鄉之情，遂無心戀戰，紛紛四散逃離。虞姬知楚必敗亡，在帳前舞劍，告別項羽後，乃自刎於軍中。霸王別虞姬後，至烏江引劍自刎。

Farewell My Concubine

Zhang Liang visits the state of Chu and advises Han Xin, a military talent, to join Liu Bang of the state ofHan. Liu does not give him any important assignment and Han is disheartened and leaves the barracks for home at the dead of night. Xiao He, Prime Minister of Han rides in a hurry to chase Han back, and strongly recommends him to Liu. Eventually Liu appoints Han as the commander-in-chief of his troops to battleChu’s victorious army.

Han moves forces to Mountain Jiuli and defeats Xiang Yu (King of Chu)’s troops there. Adopting psychological devices, Han has his men play Chu melodies and sing Chu songs outside Chu barracks so as to arouse homesickness among Chu soldiers. The trick works well and the Chu soldiers simply feel tired of the war and flee in different directions one after another. Realizing that Chu is totally defeated, Yu Ji,the most favorite concubine of Xiang Yu, farewells the Xiang by perforaming sword dance . Then Yu commits suicide in the camp. After farewell to Yu Ji, Xiang goes to River Wu and kills himself.
