Pei Yanling talks about the relationship between master and student in Liyuan

Author: Yang Ming

In Hong Kong, Pei Yanling is well-known and known to all women and children. Fans often respond with praise and say: "Wow - a woman who pretends to be a ghost king! The kung fu is unmatched - good competition! She is more competitive than a man!".

Speaking of Mr. Guo Jingchun, in the hearts of Hong Kong people in Hong Kong, few people know about it. In his early years, Guo studied under Li Lanting, the master of martial arts, and he was a famous martial arts student in the northern Jingbang opera circle with Liang Huichao, Zhang Shilin, Li Yuanchun and other Peking opera martial arts leaders. Since the 1950s, he has specialized in art education, and has long gained a reputation among professionals for his wide-ranging belly and strict teaching skills. Pei Yanling, Kun Ling's martial arts student, is a representative figure among Guo's disciples. Back then, Pei Yanling joined Guo Jingchun's sect. After ten years of suffering like hell, at the age of 16, she was famous all over the world for her "Lotus Lantern" agarwood. As the saying goes: a teacher with a strict reputation will produce a brilliant disciple!

To commemorate the predecessor Mr. Li Lanting, Pei Yanling and Guo Jingchun once established the traditional private class "Lanting Club" in Hong Kong and Singapore, and taught local Hong Kong Cantonese teenagers Shan Ting and Ya Qi, etc. No tuition fee, full food and clothing ; Seriously, the eight locals teach the traditional Beijing-Kunming repertoire, singing, reciting, dancing and playing, authentic.

In late spring, the author was invited by Mrs. Pei to watch the "Lanting Society" play a new voice twice at Sai Wan Ho Civic Center and Tuen Mun Town Hall in Hong Kong: Mrs. Pei presided over it, and Mrs. Kwok took the stage, a professional Peking Opera scene from the north to the south , next to two petite and lovely girls, performed a pair of traditional Beijing operas: "Small Shangfen" and "Mu Kezhai". In Hong Kong, where "human rights are paramount" and material life is superior, there are parents who are willing for their children to terminate their studies, change their names and surnames, and accept beatings, scolding and punishment, and are willing to convert to the strict teacher. The miracle of Liyuan, which modern people dare not think about, dare not do, cannot do, and does not work, has become a reality under the magic wand of Pei Yanling and Guo Jingchun! At the end of the nocturne, at the end of the curtain call, the audience stood up and applauded; on the stage, the two beloved disciples howled with joy and knelt down to thank Guo Jingchun with tears streaming down their faces. Seeing this moving scene, the author can't help but marvel at the scenes of Pei Fuling﹛Yaqi) and Yuan Futing (Shanting) as mentors, just like the past half a century ago when Xiao Fangfang and Chen Baozhu were apprenticed to the chrysanthemum masters:

In the mid-1950s, Chrysanthemum, a senior Peking opera actress, taught the Peking opera "Hong Ni Guan" to child stars Xiao Fangfang and Chen Baozhu in Hong Kong. Master Fen personally commanded and dispatched the scene; on stage, two popular child stars, Dou Kou Nianhua, Xiao Fangfang, who played the role of the Dongfang family, wore a silver and white satin dress and embroidered "Mrs. Dongfang". The large banners are all the private outfits of Fangfang's mother, Mrs. Yang Lingzhijun, and Aunt Xiao (known as the star mother "Empress Xiao"), who are tailor-made, hand-sewn, and worked day and night for more than a month; Baozhu is disguised as a man , Reverse the role of Wang Bodang of Wu Xiaosheng, romantic and heroic, captivating the soul; there are fast guns, gun racks, end flowers, horse trippers, neck-piercing flowers, and pink chrysanthemums are everywhere.
The author used to study opera with master Fen Juhua, and she kept chanting the words "Ben Deng Cang—" to Xiao Fangfang. This foundation has made Xiao Fangfang and Chen Baozhu famous in the Yinhai, and they will be used for life. Forty years later, Xiao Fangfang, who is over half a century old, can still play on the screen in the new film "Hudumen", which is still inseparable from the basic skills of housekeeping in "Stupid Warehouse" carefully taught by Master Fen Chrysanthemum Son.

In Hong Kong in the 1950s, there was Master Fen Chrysanthemum who presided over the "Chinese National Opera School", training film and television superstars such as Xiao Fangfang, Chen Baozhu, Chen Haoyu, Feng Baobao, known as the "Seven Princesses"; "Class", trained Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung, Yuan Kui, Yuen Biao and other martial arts kings, known as the "Seven Little Fortunes". Five years ago, Guo Jingchun and Pei Yanling founded the "Lanting Club" in Hong Kong.
